Mazda CX-5 key fob battery (2019–2025): CR2025 or CR2032

Before you swap it

  • A CR2025 is 2.5 mm thick. CR2016 and CR2032 look the same from the front, but they aren't the same cell, and a thinner one can rattle or lose contact.
  • Keep the old cell until the new one works. If the car still won't respond, the new cell is usually in the wrong way up.

Quick answers

Which battery goes in the Mazda CX-5 key (2019–2025)?

Type A key (auxiliary key pulls straight out): one CR2025 3V lithium coin cell. Type B key (removable lower cover): one CR2032 3V lithium coin cell.

Is DL2025 the same as CR2025?

Yes. DL2025 is CR2025, and DL2032 is CR2032: same cells, other names.

Will a CR2032 fit instead of a CR2025?

No. It's the same 20 mm width but 3.2 mm thick, against 2.5 mm for a CR2025. Use a CR2025.
